A Sad Story
My friend ordered an iPhone with Fido. They renewed her contract and said, sure, we’ll send you one right away!! A few days later she received the email confirmation, and a few days later again she got an email with the UPS tracking number for her new phone. Delivery was supposed to be superfast, one day later! Well, the day arrived, but her iPhone didn’t. Although on the UPS website it stated that the package was “On the truck for delivery”, the truck never arrived at her house. Since it was a Friday, the delivery got rescheduled to Monday. Again, the item was marked as “on truck for delivery”, but it didn’t get delivered. Highly suspicious by now. A few phone calls later she realizes that UPS lost her package! NO!!!! And she cannot complain, because it’s Fido who has to do the tracing. She finally gets someone from Fido on the line that will put a tracer on the package, and she’s being told to wait 96 hours. After 96 hours, she calls Fido back. Nobody has put any tracer on any package, apparently.
But the person she is talking to now says “We’ll do it right, this time,” and puts a tracer on the package. But now she has to wait another 96 hours. Another 96 hours pass, she calls back, but they still don’t have any news. They tell her she has to wait another 48 hours now????? That is crazy. But she waits the 48 hours, and then she calls back, all angry now, (finally), she’s going to cancel the contract, it’s an impossible story, bla bla bla, and while she’s getting all angry, the customer service representative on the line says “Why cancel? I can send you a new phone?” and she is, WHAT, REALLY? to which he replies, “Of course. We have a 32 GB here for you.” Uhm, but that’s not what she ordered, that’s $ 100 more than budgeted, and she thinks she’s rather check with her husband first. So she hangs up, calls the husband, the husband says, “ARE YOU CRAZY?? GET IT OF COURSE!!”, she calls Fido back and Fido says, sorry, we’re now sold out.
To recap the story, not only does she not have the phone she has been billed for, for which she will not be able to receive a replacement because Fido headquarters are sold out, but if she was as lucky as to find one in a Fido store, she wouldn’t be able to pick that one up instead, because THEY PROCESSED HER UPGRADE ALREADY AND SHE IS NOW NOT ELEGIBLE ANYMORE.
How’s that for a sad story?
